At its modern machine workshop in Outokumpu, Turula Engineering provides top-tier welding services that meet the most demanding standards of the international heavy engineering industry.

Turula-Engineering - Advanced welding and machining solutions

Why choose Turula for demanding welding projects?

When your project requires the welding of components weighing tens of tonnes and measuring several metres, Turula Engineering comes into its own. We specialise in demanding machine-building components and assemblies where massive scale, extreme strength and uncompromising quality assurance come together.

Our factory’s versatile welding and assembly facilities are designed for the efficient handling of large, heavy and mid-sized machine-building components. Our maximum lifting capacity is 100 tonnes, and we also have suitable capacity for welding mid-sized components.

Turula’s welding capacity: versatility and cutting-edge technology

Our machinery and our personnel’s expertise have been selected specifically to serve the machine-building industry. The work of our welders is supervised and guided by highly trained specialists: International Welding Engineers (IWE) and International Welding Supervisors (IWS).

We have a wide range of modern welding technologies at our disposal:

  • Robotic welding: We operate four welding robots for efficient component production with consistent quality.
  • MIG/MAG welding & TIG welding: For versatile welding applications.
  • Submerged arc welding: Particularly suitable for the efficient welding of heavy-duty and thick materials.
  • Plasma welding & laser welding: For specialised applications requiring low heat input and extreme precision.

Quality control and digitalization you can trust

  • WeldEye system: We monitor welding parameters in real time (on-line monitoring) using Kemppi’s WeldEye system, ensuring 100% traceability and quality assurance.
  • Certified quality: Our welding process meets the strict requirements of the ISO 3834-2 standard (Total Welding Management) for comprehensive quality assurance.

Technical benefits of our service for customers

An integrated production chain creates synergy

Our greatest advantage is the complete integration of our manufacturing processes. Because we handle all preliminary stages of the work ourselves, production control can seamlessly optimize material orders and machining allowances right from the design phase. When the entire chain operates as a unified process, the risk of errors is minimized and quality remains consistent.

As part of Arginta Engineering, we can manage our supply chains seamlessly and provide our customers with the best possible insight into the different stages of their product.

  • Welding shop: We manufacture heavy-duty steel structures in-house.
  • Heat treatment: Heat treatment services are also available through us for the manufactured components.
  • Horizontal boring: Final dimensional accuracy is achieved with our precision machines.
  • Quality control: We use laser-based measuring equipment and 3D measurement to verify tolerances.

Frequently asked questions about welding (FAQ)

What certifications does your welding shop have? Our welding quality system is certified in accordance with the most demanding ISO 3834-2:2021 standard (or EN 3834-2). In addition, the entire factory operates in accordance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

How do you verify welding quality? During welding, we use Kemppi’s digital real-time WeldEye monitoring system to monitor welding parameters. All work is carried out under the supervision of IWE and IWS specialists. We can provide complete quality documentation and measurement reports for welding and materials.
